Company Description
Future Kids in Colombo offers dynamic computer programming classes for children ages 7+ using tools like Scratch, Microsoft MakeCode, and Python. Our coding instructors focus on making coding entertaining, encouraging discovery, creative expression, and presentation skills in students. We host free community Hackathons to promote learning and skill development in computer programming.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site volunteer role at Future Kids in Colombo. Volunteers will be involved in teaching computer programming classes to children, encouraging creative projects, and guiding students through presentations at the end of each session. They will also participate in organizing and facilitating community Hackathons.
Qualifications
- Experience in computer programming and coding
- Knowledge of tools like Scratch, Microsoft MakeCode, or Python
- Strong presentation and oratory skills
- Passion for teaching and working with children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Previous teaching or volunteering experience is a plus
- Background in education or child development is beneficial
