Job Description
Leading Multinational Company is Looking for Utility & Premises Engineer
Location – Horana
Responsibilities
-Autonomous and Planned Maintenance:
- Implement maintenance activities for central utility plants and utilities.
- Monitor and review programs for operational health checks.
- Aim for zero production stoppages due to machine breakdowns.
- Optimize repair and maintenance costs.
- Increase machine reliability.
- Enhance technicians’ and operators’ knowledge.
-Safety Standards Implementation:
- Implement safety protocols for utility plants.
- Ensure compliance with Unilever guidelines and local laws.
- Educate and engage the team for safety and behavioral culture change.
-Skill Development and Training:
- Conduct skill gap analysis for utility engineering staff.
- Train operators and technicians on utility management and safety.
-Project Implementation:
- Manage new projects (refurbishments, modifications, installations) within budget and time, ensuring no SHE incidents.
-Record Keeping and Compliance:
- Maintain records of safety device testing and calibration.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
-Contract Management:
- Manage contracted services for utility plants according to Unilever guidelines and local laws.
-Premises Maintenance:
- Oversee building and infrastructure maintenance.
- Prepare maintenance estimates and approve contractor offers.
- Ensure timely processing of payments as per Unilever guidelines.
-Budget Forecasting:
- Forecast annual capital and maintenance budgets for buildings and infrastructure.
-Safety and Training:
- Ensure safety of premises maintenance departments.
- Train engineers and contractors on SHE standards.
-Remote Sites Maintenance:
- Implement maintenance operations and strategies for remote sites.
- Develop remote site team members in line with Unilever guidelines.
-Engineering Records Management:
- Manage and update engineering drawings.
- Guide engineers in maintaining accurate records and revisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical & Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing and industrial utilities (e.g., boilers, fire systems, water and wastewater treatment, chillers, air compressors).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain, focusing on maintenance and utilities.
- Prior experience in FMCG manufacturing is an added advantage.
- Strong and assertive leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical thinking & Strong problem-solving abilities.
