Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the student counseling team, providing direction, support, and professional development opportunities.
• Develop and implement effective counseling strategies to support medical students in their academic and career goals.
• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with students to address academic, personal, and career-related concerns.
• Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to create comprehensive support programs tailored to the needs of medical students.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of counseling programs and services, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical education trends and best practices in student counseling.
• Provide crisis intervention and support for students experiencing acute challenges.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and ethical standards in student counseling.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in student counseling, with a focus on medical students and courses.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective counseling strategies.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in medical education and student support.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and external partners.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
