Job Description
Routine duties & Attributes required:
- Ensure continuous medical cover for all patients admitted to the unit under the direct supervision of the consultant.
- Coordinate with the consultants/ intensivists with regards to the management of the patients.
- Carry out instructions by consultants without delay and to update them regarding all new developments & changes in patients’ condition clearly and effectively.
- Convey clinical findings of patients under care to respective consultants clearly and effectively.
- Ensure that the plans are acted upon and specific diagnostic tests are carried out diligently.
- Regular precise documentation of the progress of the patient in the unit.
- Education of patients and the patients’ guardians regarding the clinical condition and the plan of management & follow up treatment.
- Liaison with consultants of other specialties as and when required.
- Handing over of patients to the incoming Medical Officer with due diligence.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in appropriate forms in the patient medical record.
Minimum Entry Qualifications:
- MBBS or equivalent qualification.
- Postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
- Full registration from SLMC.
- Excellent clinical and PR Skills.
