COMPANY: Leading multinational apparel manufacturer

POSITION: Head of Merchandising – Intimates Wear (General Manager level)

LOCATION: Colombo, Sri Lanka

SALARY : Gross Rs 1.2 Mn – 1.7 Mn

OVERVIEW: The Head of Merchandising will spearhead the marketing strategies and initiatives of the company, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends. This pivotal role demands a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the apparel industry, particularly in intimates wear merchandising. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving marketing excellence, fostering strong client relationships, and achieving significant business growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with the company’s goals and market demands.
• Oversee the marketing department, ensuring effective execution of campaigns and initiatives.
• Manage and mentor the marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation and performance.
• Analyze market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with the sales and product development teams to ensure cohesive and effective marketing efforts.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing strategies and adjust as necessary to meet objectives.
• Drive brand development and ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels.
• Prepare and manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.

PRE-REQUISITES:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Textile, or a related field.
• Overall 10+ years of experience in apparel marketing and merchandising, with a focus on intimates wear.
• Proven track record in a senior marketing role such as Business Manager, Head of Marketing, or Deputy General Manager of Marketing.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
