Job Description
Head of General Sourcing and Special Projects
Location : Colombo 03
Industry : Apparel
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire operation, including customer communication, by maintaining healthy relationships with all business stakeholders to ensure a sustainable journey.
- Develop and implement strategic plans efficiently and effectively to achieve desired goals.
- Lead operations by setting clear objectives for team members, providing constructive feedback to drive excellence.
- Foster strong customer relationships and collaborate with channel partners to build pipelines and close deals.
- Plan budgets, present sales forecasts, and analyze figures for new product ranges.
- Meet with suppliers, manage stock distribution, negotiate costs, order stock, agree on timescales and delivery dates, and complete necessary paperwork.
- Lead by example in adhering to digital platforms with a focus on process innovation and simplification.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the apparel industry; hands-on experience in multiple product categories is advantageous.
- Relevant academic and professional qualifications.
- Demonstrated people leadership skills, team orientation, and managerial experience.
- Ability to manage a team in a high-volume, high-pressure environment.
- Extensive knowledge of global manufacturing and operational capabilities.
