Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain database servers.
- Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
- Monitor database performance, identify and resolve bottlenecks and other issues.
- Create and maintain documentation for database installation, configuration, and maintenance procedures.
- Work with development teams to optimize database scheme and queries.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure database server availability and performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)
- Knowledge in Database export/import and backup/restore procedures
- Experience with database design, implementation, and optimization.
- Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions such as Azure SQL Database.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
