Job Profile

·        Analyze market trends and customer preferences to select appropriate product ranges that align with company goals and current fashion trends

·        Manage relationships with existing suppliers, negotiate contracts, and identify opportunities to source new suppliers to expand product offerings.

·        Oversee purchasing activities, including cost estimation, to ensure profitability and timely delivery of products.

·        Monitor performance indicators, manage stock levels, and implement strategies to optimize inventory, including managing ageing inventory, promotions, sales, and purchases.

·        Collaborate closely with Design and Development teams to source new and alternative products that meet customer demand and align with brand aesthetic.

·        Develop and implement best buying practices and processes to improve business performance, including vendor management, product assortment planning, and inventory optimization.

·        Conduct regular store visits to get feedback, monitor product displays, and ensure products are presented in a suitable and timely manner.

·        Work on improving existing product lines by identifying areas for enhancement, cost reduction, or product differentiation.

Candidate Profile

·        Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

·        Minimum of 5 years of experience in buying and purchasing in a managerial position within the fashion retail industry.

·        Strong understanding of fashion trends, market dynamics, and customer behavior.

·        Proven track record of negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings.

·        Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.

·        Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

·        Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with purchasing software or ERP systems preferred.
