Job Description
The Checkout Associate’s primary role is to assist customers in the in-store check-out process. Responsibilities include ringing up sales correctly, receiving payments, honoring coupons & gift cards, and maintaining cash and credit transactions. You should have previous customer service experience and knowledge of POS operations to ensure smooth transactions and maximize customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Manage transactions using POS system
- Scan goods accurately
- Collect payments in cash or credit
- Handle refunds, exchanges, and coupons
- Cross-sell products and resolve customer complaints
- Maintain checkout area cleanliness and track transactions
- Package items and handle returns
Requirements and Skills
- Work experience in retail sales or cashier role
- Basic PC knowledge and familiarity with POS systems
- Strong math, communication, and time management skills
- Customer satisfaction-oriented mindset
