Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management Accounts: Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Experience Requirements: Demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a preference for experience in import and trading sectors and at least 2 years of experience in an audit firm.
  • Import Costing and Stock Valuation: Utilize familiarity with import costing and stock valuation to accurately reflect inventory and cost of goods sold in financial reports.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Bank and Financial Correspondence: Manage correspondence with banks and other financial institutions, handling queries and maintaining professional relationships.
  • ERP Systems and Accounting Packages: Use ERP systems and accounting packages efficiently to manage financial data and reporting.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel: Utilize MS Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and data management.
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English and Sinhala, with fluency in Tamil considered an advantage.
  • Auditor Liaison: Coordinate with auditors, providing necessary documentation and support during audit processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including experience in import and trading sectors and audit firms.
  • Familiarity with import costing, stock valuation, and bank reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems/accounting packages and MS Excel.
