Job Description
The Job:
- Support Senior Accountants in year-end closing processes, including preparation of adjustment journals and financial statements.
- Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Provide expert advice and solutions on complex GST issues, including input tax credits, GST adjustments, and compliance requirements.
- Assist with Div 7A compliance and calculations, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with tax laws.
- Manage CGT calculations, including asset disposals, exemptions, and concessions.
- Handle FBT compliance, including preparation of returns.
- Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to resolve accounting and taxation issues efficiently and professionally.
Requirements:
- 2 to 4 years of Australian Accounting experience primarily in financial preparation and tax returns.
- Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, and other accounting systems.
- Degree in accounting or related field. CA/CPA/CIM qualifications are advantageous.
- Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
- Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proactive problem solver with a positive attitude.
- Detail-oriented and dedicated to exceptional client service.
- Strong collaborative skills with a solid work ethic.
