Job Description
Melwa Group is the leading steel manufacturer in Sri Lanka with diversified business across multiple industries.
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead our Solar operations. As an Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operations of our solar power plants. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams and project managers to optimize performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
Responsibilities
- Management of Operating plants and ensuring optimum output through scheduled maintenance and operations.
- Overlooking new projects and managing resources to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Building relationships with government agencies to ensure timely approval of projects.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to foster professional growth and development.
- Managing and leading cross functional teams to maintain optimum performance levels.
- Maintaining and reporting performance statistics of power plants and addressing issues.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering from a reputed institution.
- At least 6-8 years’ experience in Solar projects management and operations.
- Advanced knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards related to Solar projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members, clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities. The ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms is valuable.
- Capability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, coordinating with engineers from other disciplines such as civil, mechanical, and environmental engineering.
