Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Category Planning & Marketing Manager to lead our shopper and trade marketing agenda for the assigned category. Reporting directly to the Head of Customer Marketing, this role is pivotal in translating consumer strategy into shopper strategy, leveraging consumer and shopper insights. The successful candidate will spearhead Integrated Business Planning (IBP) meetings for Customer Development (CD), and will be responsible for developing trade programs, promotions, and schemes to achieve brand and category objectives. Operating within the assigned Gross-to-Net (GTN) budget, the Category Planning & Marketing Manager will monitor and drive category growth across various channels and retail environments.
What you would be doing:
- Convert brand strategies into actionable shopper strategies.
- Develop strategic shopper plans by GT Channel & Modern Trade chains.
- Plan and execute shopper research studies, using external agencies to evaluate progress through the shopper lens.
- Integrate shopper perspective into annual business planning, ensuring marketing and customer marketing plans incorporate shopper insights.
- Track progress against plans and analyze shopper and category trends, recommending strategies and actions.
- Defining and executing the category-specific channel programs, Trade schemes, and Trade promotions.
- Represent Customer Development in key Integrated Business Planning meetings, while leading the activity Planning work streams & Activity sign-off meetings.
Here’s what we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business Management, Master’s Degree would be desirable.
- 2-3 years of experience in Shopper Marketing / Trade Marketing/ Brand Management within FMCG/Hardware or Telecommunication industry.
- 2-3 years of Sales Experience.
- Strong business acumen, shopper understanding, and insight generation for targeted action.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder and relationship management.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Self-driven mentality with a high level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills in both English & Sinhala.
