Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power BI Engineer to join a leading Microsoft Partner Service Company in Sri Lanka. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, business intelligence, and a deep understanding of Power BI to transform complex data into actionable insights. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their business needs and delivering customised Power BI solutions that drive informed decision-making.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience working with Power BI in a professional setting.
• Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query (M Language).
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Experience with SQL and database management.
• Familiarity with other Microsoft technologies (e.g., Azure, Office 365, SharePoint).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement Power BI dashboards and reports based on client requirements.
• Collaborate with clients to gather and analyse business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Integrate data from various sources (e.g., SQL databases, Excel, SharePoint, cloud services) into Power BI.
• Optimise Power BI solutions for performance and scalability.
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business strategies.
• Provide training and support to clients on Power BI usage and best practices.
• Maintain and update existing Power BI reports and dashboards as needed.
• Stay current with the latest Power BI features, updates, and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or equivalent certification.
• Experience with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView).
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R.
• Experience in the consulting industry or working with multiple clients.
• Familiarity with agile project management methodologies.
