Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and visionary Head of Product Innovation to lead our company’s charge in developing cutting-edge apparel that breaks new ground and excites our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for the entire product innovation lifecycle, from identifying emerging trends to successfully launching new products that drive sales.

You will be directly reporting the CEO.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive product innovation strategy aligned with our company’s vision, mission, and business objectives.
• Lead and providing guidance / manage a cross-functional teams of designers, Fabric innovators, Product Developers based in Sri Lanka and other specialists to translate innovative ideas into market-ready apparel.
• Conduct thorough market research and analyze customer data to pinpoint market gaps, trending styles, and opportunities for product development.
• Partner with the marketing team to define target audiences and craft compelling market positioning for new product lines.
• Create and maintain a clear product roadmap, prioritizing projects based on strategic importance, resource availability, and potential return on investment (ROI).
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product innovation initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and exceptional product quality.
• Oversee the entire product development process, including prototyping, testing, and refining designs based on feedback from internal stakeholders and customers.
• Foster a culture of creativity and innovation within the product development team, encouraging the exploration of new ideas and approaches to product design.
• Maintain a deep understanding of the fashion industry landscape, including competitor offerings, emerging technologies, and the latest trends, to inform future product strategies.
• Collaborate with sales and customer support teams to gather feedback, address product concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Product Design, Business, or a related field (an MBA is a plus).
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in apparel product development, innovation, or a similar role within the fashion industry.
• Proven track record of successfully launching innovative and commercially viable apparel products.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a creative team.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• In-depth knowledge of fashion trends, consumer preferences, and the competitive landscape.
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and a strong understanding of design thinking methodologies.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
