Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our client’s team at a Singapore-based logistics startup. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will be responsible for basic bookkeeping and will need to have knowledge of Xero.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Process and review invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
• Prepare and issue invoices to customers promptly.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions.

General Ledger Maintenance:

• Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries and assist in month-end close processes.

Financial Reporting:

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Generate financial analyses and reports to support management decision-making.

Documentation and Process Improvement:

• Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to enhancing accounting procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or comparable professional qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, etc.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Xero accounting software is required.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
