Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Sushi Chef at Sushi Japanese Restaurant located in Hikkaduwa. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing sushi dishes, including sushi rolls, sashimi, and nigiri. The chef will ensure high-quality and fresh ingredients are used, maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards, and collaborate with the culinary team to create new and innovative sushi dishes.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in traditional Japanese sushi preparation techniques
- Ability to handle and prepare raw fish with precision and attention to detail
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Excellent knife skills and ability to create visually appealing sushi presentations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Culinary degree or relevant certifications are a plus
