Job Description
Position Overview
We are looking for an Economist to play a pivotal role in comprehending the economy, uncovering new opportunities, and contributing to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of both local and global economies, coupled with adept skills in analyzing economic policy. Beyond research and analysis, the role involves crafting economic forecasts and models to pinpoint emerging market trends, supporting decision-making across all organizational levels.
Key job responsibilities:
- Researching, analyzing, interpreting, and gathering data on the present economic status, analyzing economic policy framework and formulating the economic outlook for the group
- Develop economic models to forecast economic trends and assess the impact of legislative changes on various economic sectors.
- Build and manage economic and econometric models using statistical and programs to analyze market trends.
- Review, analyze, and interpret data from primary and secondary sources to generate insights into local and global economies.
- Summarize research findings and provide recommendations to senior officials to make strategic decisions
- Utilize large datasets to identify trends and patterns, assisting in forecasting and back-testing of forecasts.
- Ability to distill complex economic data in the form of presentations/reports to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirement:
- A postgraduate qualification in Economics.
- Prior experience or a strong interest in research/policy studies with a solid understanding of business, market and economic dynamics.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in statistical/econometric programming languages (R, Python, Matlab, etc.)
