Responsibilities

Professional Practice:

• Perform audit work with due professional care, adhering to standards for internal auditing.
• Assist the Head of Internal Audit (HIA) and Board Audit Committees (BACs).

Risk-Based Approach:

• Establish flexible audit programs based on risk methodology.
• Address risks and control issues identified by the Bank and BACs.

Compliance and Policies:

• Ensure systems/processes comply with accounting standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Prioritize and audit all units within the bank and its subsidiaries.
• Maintain internal audit programs and manuals.

Follow-Up and Reporting:

• Implement follow-up systems to track action taken based on audit recommendations.
• Regularly report progress to the Audit and Assurance Committee (AAC).

Quality Assurance:

• Develop and maintain quality assurance/improvement programs.
• Conduct periodic internal and external reviews and self-assessments.

Regulatory Compliance and Governance:

• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a positive relationship with external auditors and regulators.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Banking.
• At least 5 years in a Senior Managerial position.

Audit Exposure

• Active involvement in Internal Audit/External Audit.
• Exposure to auditing Banking or Financial Services sector is advantageous.

Qualifications and Attributes

• Fully qualified in CA, CIMA, or ACCA.
• Key attributes include excellent communication (oral and written), exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, conflict resolution abilities, strong work ethics, appreciation for diverse viewpoints, and good analytical skills.
